CHENNAI: It was a feast of harmony and peace at the Iftar get-together hosted by the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, at his ancestral residence Amir Mahal at Royapettah on Sunday.Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali said the Iftar party was aimed at spreading the message of harmony and peace. The Nawab also said Harmony India, a registered association founded by him, intended to promote secularism, communal amity and national integration. Various religious heads like the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Kanchi Seer and the Imam from Mecca had paid visits to Amir Mahal, he added.Minister of Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare A Mohammedjan, in his felicitation address, said that the government was investing in education of backward classes and minorities, especially Muslim girls.
