Candidates are leaving no stone un turned in making preparations to successfully get through the Common Admission Test (CAT), the entrance test for the prestigious central institutes and top management colleges, which is scheduled to be held next month.
Full-time professionals are ensuring that sufficient preparations are made before appearing for the entrance test conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
CAT 2012 starts from October 11 and will go on till November 6. Karan Sachan, an employee with Motorola Mobiles, has registered to write the CAT in mid-October. “I have been studying consistently for four hours every day.
I prepare for two subjects and hence I am able to cover all the three sections everyday. I am taking up mock entrance examinations on weekends which gives me a clear picture of how I have fared,” he said.
Karan, a student of Vistamind Coaching Centre, pointed that he aims to get admissions to some old institutions like IIMs in Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Kolkata, Xavier Labour Relations Instituteor School of Management and Faculty of Management at Delhi University.
“I have felt the need for an MBA degree in my profession and know that it would enhance my career opportunities by adding significant value”, he added.
Meanwhile, Apal Jain, an employee of Wipro has registered to write the test on the last slot of the last day. He is studying for at least six hours everyday. “My aim is to get into the IIMs or the top 50 management schools across India.
I will be taking a break before the test to give it my best shot,” he said. “I will be writing other entrance tests also Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, XLRI Admission Test, Graduate Management Admission Test too,” Apal added.
Krithika Vidya M, a BCom graduate, who has taken a break from studies to write the CAT, said, “I have registered for an online test in the first week.”
