CBI had recommended a penalty against Bhowmick while Acharya was indicted in the AICTE scam.
New Delhi: Directors of two IITs, Kharagpur and Patna, are holding their offices despite a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) indictment against them.
The directors concerned are Damodar Acharya of IIT-Kharagpur and A K Bhowmick of IIT-Patna.
In 2008, the CBI had recommended a penalty against Bhowmick while Acharya was indicted in the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) scam in May.
The IITs are already in the eye of storm with Infosys founder N R Narayan Murthy saying that the students of the premier engineering institution of the country are below par.
