Twenty three Indian fishermen were detained by the Lankan Navy after they strayed into its territorial waters.
New Delhi: There is hope for the 23 Indian fishermen who were detained by the Sri Lankan Navy after they strayed into its territorial waters on Sunday. The Sri Lankan High Commissioner has said the fishermen will be released in 2-3 days.
Meanwhile, India's Counsel General in Jaffna is also headed to Mannar to hold talks with the local authorities for the fishermen's speedy release.
The Indian High Commissioner will also be meeting Sri Lanka's Solicitor General to discuss the issue of Indian fishermen being detained by Sri Lanka.
