Colombo: The India-Sri Lanka match in the Unitech Cup tri-series will be played as per schedule on Wednesday

However, the dates of rest of the matches are subject to change and the tournament will be pushed further by a few days.

The Board for Cricket Control in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) had made a proposal to reschedule the tournament and both South Africa and India agreed to do the same.

Sri Lanka-South Africa match that was called of for the second time on Tuesday will now be played on August 29 while the final will take place on September 2.

South Africa decided to continue in the tri-series only if International Cricket Council (ICC) did not agree with its security concerns.

ICC can penalise South Africa if it abandons the tournament without any strong ground. They will undertake an independent inquiry into the security aspect.

Proteas are also divided over security concerns with the senior players wanting to leave but juniors willing to continue.

Cricket South Africa CEO Gerald Majola is likely to fly down to Sri Lanka on Friday to meet SA players and assess the situation.
