Infant found dead in drainage canal

KARIMNAGAR: The body of a newborn baby boy was found in a drainage canal in Vemulawada on Tuesday. Learning about the incident, locals immediately informed the police about it who rushed to the spot.
According to police, the infant was wrapped up in a cloth which had blotches of blood. Police suspect that the incident took place on Monday night. The infant's body was shifted to government hospital for postmortem and later, buried. Locals suspect that the newborn baby might have been choked to death. They also said nail scars and finger prints were found on the infant's neck.
