BANGALORE: After University of Columbia, Queen’s University and University of Exeter, it was Swedish universities’ turn to attract the city students. On the occasion of Sweden Education Day, 10 universities visited R V College of Engineering on Friday, to provide opportunities for students to study in Sweden.Donnie S C Lygonis, from Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, interacted with students on ‘How to start creative thinking and how students can convert their project/research ideas into tangible businesses?’“Some suggestions that should be kept in mind when someone comes up with an idea they think is big, is to identify customers and the needs, understand the context and then just do it,” he said.He further urged students to think in pictures, which would help in visualising the problem and ‘seeing’ something that they could have not seen earlier. Apart from several interactive sessions, prizes were distributed to engineering students from India who won an online quiz hosted by Sweden (www.challengeyourself.in).The prizes included 3 tuition fee waivers to study Master’s programmes in 3 Swedish universities (Chalmers, KTH Royal and Lund) and 6 prizes in the form of iPads and books.
