The MLAs of the City on Thursday urged the State Government to direct the BBMP to involve them in development works taken up in their constituencies. “There must be a system to involve the city MLAs in the civic agencies work so that we can serve our people well,” Gandhinagar MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao (Congress) said while taking part in the debate on the subject. Other city MLAs suggested that the government should form a committee headed by MLAs to review all the works taken up by the BBMP in their constituencies. Replying to the debate, Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok said he will consider their suggestions and direct the Mayor and the Commissioner to consult them while taking up works in their constituencies.
