BANGALORE: The IPL-5 this year, in Bangalore was without its usual glam quotient and missing the fervour and excitement that is associated with this twenty20 annual championship, since its inception.Unlike the previous years, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was missing the Bollywood element, this season. Disappointed spectators did not even catch a glimpse of B-town actresses. Bangalore girl, Deepika Padukone, a regular on the IPL circuit, who bonded with Siddarth Mallya last season, was not here to support or pep up Junior Mallya this time. Nor, did we see Bollywood diva, Katrina Kaif making her glittering presence in any of the matches. But our own Kannada film celebrities who made to each match was a disappointed lot. Hatrick hero, Shivarajkumar who was part of every IPL match, except for one, was not happy with the way, RCB played this season. “I felt there was no sincerity and the players totally lacking concentration. Take the last match in Bangalore, they had got a good score of 220 runs but simply gave away to the opposite team. They should stop participating in outdoor activities during the matches. Even the crowd was not happy with the way, the RCB played this season,” says Shivarajkumar.Brand Ambassador of the RCB team, Puneeth Rajkumar could only make it for one match as otherwise, the actor was busy with his reality show and promoting his latest flick Anna Bond. On the other hand, another brand ambassador, Sandalwood queen, Ramya made sure, she attended all the matches. The actress who was not available for comments, has tweeted “Disappointed RCB didn’t make it this time. Well, its a game. We win some we lose some. Always a next time, now, moving on.. :o)”. However, in her earlier tweet on May 18, she had been confident and said, “Siddharth, there’s no way, you’ll beat RCB!! RCB is winning the cup this year.” Ramya’s favourite player this time was Ab de villiers as she tweeted on May 7. “Ab de villiers has been RCB’s saviour! He is now my favourite player.”
