New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday moved its teams to Uttar Pradesh on a tip off to arrest former Joint Commissioner of Police PP Pande. CBI sources said that he was key to unfolding the mystery surrounding the Ishrat Jahan case. The teams will interrogate Pande's family and friends to know about his whereabouts, the sources said.
The CBI had recently accused the Gujarat government and the state police of not cooperating with the investigation in the fake encounter case.
"The government is shielding Pande, whose whereabouts are yet not known," the sources said.
Pande, who is a 1980 batch IPS officer, has been missing and has not joined investigations.
