Mumbai: The King of Pop was always surrounded by bizarre controversies and therefore his death was no different from his life.
From his fake death to him being long dead, there have been all kinds of rumours about his death.
Theory 1: MJ’s fake death
According to a theory that has been widely circulated Jackson allegedly faked his death to escape repayment of almost $500 million debt he faced. Some websites also claim that the singer was planning his death plot well over 10 years and is currently hiding somewhere in Eastern Europe. And the body everyone saw is allegedly of a man who was terminally ill, and whose family will be looked after.
Theory 2: The Martin Bashir Theory
Martin Bashir is the British journo who made the term ‘Wacko Jacko’ immemorial. In a 90 minute documentary called Living with Michael Jackson he very ruthlessly exposed Jackson's personal life. He quizzed him about everything, including Jackson's child molestation rumours. It was aired on UK's ITV and allegedly it was this documentary that made Jackson lose faith in everyone, ultimately leading to his untimely, lonely death.
Theory 3: He's already dead
This one came up on theonion.com – the satirical news website. It claims that Jackson's decomposed body had been found at his Neverland ranch. The site read – “Coroners have officially pronounced Michael Jackson dead. From what we can tell, he died between 18 and 20 years ago”.
Theory 4: Drug overdose theory
This is the most-talked about theory about Jackson's death. It suggests that his collapse stemmed from an over dose of prescription painkillers. Rumours say that he was addicted to Demerol which he started taking during his child-abuse controversy days and his fatal cardiac arrest may have resulted from an injection of Demerol.
Theory 5: He’s not gay
Reportedly Jackson's friend and bodyguard Matt Fiddes told Sky News in an interview that he had a long-time girlfriend who was also close to his family. Now, if it's true this squashes all the earlier allegations of him being gay. Another story doing the rounds is that he was allegedly dating his children's nanny Grace Rwaramba.
Theory 6: Herion addict
According to his biographer Stacy Brown, Micheal Jackson was addicted to heroin. She claims that the singer shot the deadly drug into his fingertips, chest and even toenails in a desperate bid to battle depression.
The conspiracy theorists will probably be at it for a long time but controversy or not, Micheal Jackson will always be remembered for his music.
