VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam Party district president and Mylavaram MLA Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao on Monday alleged that YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy paid Rs 20 crore to each MLA who tendered his resignation.As many as 26 MLAs submitted their resignations to the Assembly secretary in the prescribed format in the morning protesting against mentioning of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the FIR filed by the CBI as part of its probe into assets of the Kadapa MP. Speaking to newsmen here, Uma said Jagan amassed a huge wealth through corrupt means when his father was the chief minister. The illegally earned money was used to buy these MLAs as part of the game plan to destabilise the Congress government in the state, he said. In all, 21 cases were filed against YSR between 1989 and 2004. The mentioning of YSR’s name in the FIR is not the first time, the TDP MLA said.The TDP has extended its total support to Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption in the country. The party is organising protests and rallies in the state in support of the fast launched by Anna Hazare for Jan Lokpal with adequate powers to effectively deal with corruption.
