The village is generally known for its Muri Mela (puffed rice fair). Every year, during Vishwakarma Puja and Bhadu Puja, these jumbo jalebis are sold for about 10 to 15 days.
During this time, people from near and far visit the village to buy the jumbo jalebis. One can find these sweet dishes at various other sweet shops as well. One of the most prominent shops is Dutta Sweet Shop. Every day, about 100 of these large jalebis are fried here and each jalebi easily takes up to 15 to 20 minutes to fry. These jalebis are sold for Rs 160 per kilogram and are packed in a special way for buyers.
Many customers come to buy the jumbo jalebis and share the special treat with their loved ones.
