Kashmere Gate, ISBT flooded; Yamuna still flows above danger mark
The water level in the Yamuna on Thursday stood at 206.50 m, which was 1.67 m above the danger mark.

New Delhi: Many areas in north Delhi's Kashmere Gate and neighbouring ISBT have been flooded as the Yamuna continued to be in spate. A nearby monastery and the Monastery Market remained inundated as water level continued to rise forcing closure of the market.

"There are about 300 markets, mostly ready-made clothes here. We don't know what is going to happen now. The water level is about four feet deep," a shop owner, GC Mishra, said.

Boat Club on Bela Road, in Civil Lines area remained inundated too. Four trucks parked on the roadside were partially submerged. The water level in the Yamuna on Thursday stood at 206.50 m at 2 PM, which was 1.67 m above the danger mark, officials in the Delhi Disaster Management Authority said.

The city government had set up 1,153 tents to accommodate more than 10,000 flood victims. Sixty-two boats with divers have also been pressed into service to rescue people.

Army personnel, NDRF and mobile medical teams and water tanks have also been pressed into service to help the affected people.
