BANGALORE: Former minister and MLA Katta Subrahmanya Naidu was taken to Lilavti Hospital, Mumbai with police escort for cancer treatment after the Lokayukta Special Court permitted him to get treatment at any hospital in India while rejecting his bail petition earlier.This was brought to the notice of Judge N K Sudheendra Rao by Naidu’s counsel Jeevan. After Jeevan informed the court when the judge asked him about Naidu’s treatment, the judge directed jail officials to file a status report concerning more information on Naidu’s treatment. Naidu had applied for bail on medical grounds as he claimed he has been suffering from Non- Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Meanwhile, the judicial custody of Katta Subrahmanya Naidu, his son Jagadish Naidu, and Srinivas, the MD of ITASKA, has been extended to November 26 by the Lokayukta Special Court on Wednesday in the multicrore KIADB land scam. The Lokayukta Special Court had earlier remanded the accused to judicial custody till Wednesday, which has now been extended again. Meanwhile, Jagadish Naidu and Srinivas were produced before the court. The judge directed the police to issue a split charge-sheet on the two proclaimed offenders in the case including Jaggaiah and Venkaiah who have been absconding.WHEN THE SON MET HIS SONThough Katta Jagadish Naidu has been remanded in judicial custody again, there was a “surprise Deepawali gift” awaiting him when he was produced on Wednesday in the court. One of his friends brought Jagadish’s three-and-half-year old son Sanjith to the court premises. It happened while Jagadish was waiting outside the court hall for his name to be called by court officials in the case. When he saw his son, he beamed with joy and tears flowed down his cheeks. He expressed his joy by kissing his son’s cheeks during the few minutes he spent with him. The police, who were escorting him, allowed him to spend some time with his son. He gave one last kiss before entering the court as his named was called out. After the he was remanded in judicial custody again, he came out of the court hall and embraced his son again and gave him biscuits before he was taken to judicial custody in a few minutes.
