BHUBANESWAR: With an aim to penetrate the domestic market and woo holidaymakers to its unique tourist destinations, Kerala Tourism reached here on Thursday as part of its national campaign.Its Bhubaneswar edition of the roadshow, which witnessed an impressive turnout, unique tourism products of God’s Own Country were showcased to those in the travel trade business and tourists.Tour operators from Bhubaneswar were invited to participate in the business meet and network with trade partners from Kerala. Cultural programmes were also presented as part of the show.“Besides the regular tourists, the tourism authorities decided to aggressively market Kerala Tourism to tap the high-spending domestic tourists from Orissa,” said Mahesh Sekhar, a representative of Kerala Tourism.Houseboats, home-stays and ayurvedic resorts and centres showcased their products and services. Leading properties in Malabar region and Wayanad, which is developing as a major tourist hub due to its proximity to Bangalore, also participated.Mahesh said similar roadshows have been organised in 10 major cities of the country so far. Deputy Director of Tourism, Kerala, Suresh Kumar was present.
