BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Road Transport Commission (KSRTC) Trade Union will stage a protest near KSRTC Central Office on March 13 demand that the government  meet its demands.“A KSRTC driver gets paid a meagre income of Rs 5,500 a month and a conductor `4,500  month. The amount is even lower during the training period,” informed Vijay Kumar, KSRTC and BMTC United Employees Union (R).Around one lakh ten thousand people from all over the state work for the four road transport corporations such as North-Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC), Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) , Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation ( KSRTC) and North-East Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and they have been repressed, the leader alleged.. “The workers are disgusted with the inhuman and illegal punishment. Though the government has declared interim relief to its employees, the workers are agitated due to the delay in a salary hikes and other facilities,” said  H V Ananthasubba Rao, KSRTC Staff and Workers Federation (AITUC).The trade unions functioning in these four state road transport corporations have formed a joint committee and submitted a memorandum to the managing director of KSRTC on February 29, who has assured them that he would take up the matter with the government. The workers have demanded that the management  find solutions to their problems with a humanitarian angle and arrive at an amicable wage settlement .
