Kuch Karo Na - KLPD: Films with suggestive titles
Ranging from 'Jawani Ke Gunah' to 'Hamen Khelne Do', here is a list of films with suggestive titles.

New Delhi: The recent controversy around the name of Vivek Oberoi, Mallika Sherawat starrer ‘KLPD’ would bring a nostalgic feel to some of the elderly members of the society. There was a time when a film’s name was seen as the maker’s identity, unlike these times when all a producer wants is fast cash.

Well, this is just one side of the coin. There are a number of films in the history of Bollywood that had far more suggestive titles than ‘KLPD’. Sometimes, the Censor Board overlooked the names, sometimes it raised a finger, but these titles continued to catch the fancies of the common movie goers.

Here is a list of ten such films that had very imaginative and suggestive titles:

1. Jawani Ke Gunah (1989): Directed by SR Pratap, the film had Bharat Kapoor and Sahila Chadda in the lead role. The name suggests the sins committed during youth. It’s not difficult to guess what type of sins they are referring to.

2. Naughty@40 (2011): Govinda tried his hands at the raunchy comedy to reclaim his position as the master of double meaning dialogues. The film doomed, Govinda was doomed even before the film.

3. Ghar Mein Ho Saali Toh Pura Saal Diwali (2001): Is there anything to describe about the name! It seems the title reveal the strength of the family bonding.

4. Kuch Karo Na (2001): The name says it all. This film was probably meant to be a B-grade film only.

5. Andheri Raat Me Diya Tere Haath Me (1986): Don’t take this Dada Kondke’s film lightly. It has been mentioned in several Hindi films.

6. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998): Leave the film’s high production values, the first thing the audience felt was a sly smile on his own lips after hearing the name.

7. Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006): Just imagine yourself in early 2000s and now imagine a film with this name, what would have you thought!

8. Peechay Ki Chod, Aagey Ki Soch (1988): Again a Dada Kondke film, however the title was later modified to ‘Aagey Ki Soch’.

9. Hamen Khelne Do (1962): Thank god, it was a children’s film, otherwise the spectators would have different expectations from it.

10. Apna Haath Jagannath (1960): This Kishore Kumar starrer doesn't need any explanations. It's a popular slang used across India.

11. Bade Achche Lagte Hain (Honourable mention): Though it’s a TV show, still the name is more popular than many film titles. The reason is obvious, isn’t it?

What's your reaction?
