Ranchi: Jharkhand High Court adjourned the case of Abhishek (Lalu’s daughter’s freind who died last week allegedly by drowning) till Tuesday on a request for a CBI probe into the December 8 incident.
"I have filed a report and handed over a copy of the CD to the advocate general S B Gadodia before the honourable court," amicus curaie Rajiv Ranjan said.
The CD apparently contains accounts of the witnesses. He, however, did not divulge the report to the media or the contents of the CD stating that the bench had directed him not to share their contents with the media before the court hears the matter on Tuesday.
The division bench headed by Chief Justice M K Vinayagam asked Ranjan to refrain from media publicity of the matter, he added.
The court on December 21 had taken cognisance to the letter addressed to it by Abhishek's father, Subhas Chandra Mishra, demanding a CBI probe into his son's death to clear some doubts.
Mishra, a doctor with the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi and was present in the court, wrote the letter after the police declared that his son died by drowning in Dassam waterfalls.
Abhishek and three of his friends were on a picnic to the picturesque spot when the tragedy happened, triggering a series of walk-outs by the opposition NDA, during the winter session of the assembly last month, demanding the government to recommend a CBI probe to "unfold the truth behind the incident".
