Election Commission of India is gearing up for the counting day on Friday. Security will be tight at 40 counting centres across the state as counting for the 40 seats begins at 8 am on Friday.
Mega exercise for Lok Sabha elections which lasted for about two months, would come to an end when counting of votes for 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar will be over. All results in Bihar are likely to be announced by Friday afternoon with the fates of prominent among those would be known are -Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar, Union Minister of State for agriculture Tarique Anwar, former chief minister Rabri Devi, former union ministers Rajeev Pratap Rudy and Ramvilas Paswan.
The Bihar government on Thursday issued guidelines to divisional and district officials to ensure peaceful law and order situation after counting of votes on Friday, a senior official said.

In the guidelines issued by the home department, the Commissioners and Inspector General of Police (IGs) of commissonerates and the district magistrate and police chiefs have been directed to take measures to ensure that no untoward incidents take place anywhere in state after counting of votes for the general elections tomorrow, Principal Secretary (Home) Amir Subhani said. The counting of votes for 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar will take place on Friday.

"For every assembly constituency in a Lok Sabha seat, 14 counting tables would be fixed and three counting staff would be deployed at each counting table," Additional Chief Electoral Officer R Laxmanana said adding that candidates and their counting agents would also have the opportunity to keep vigil on counting process.
