THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The DYFI state convention held here elected M Swaraj as state president, T V Rajesh as state secretary and K S Sunilkumar as treasurer. T V Rajesh MLA has been retained to the post of state secretary. A A Shazeer (Kannur), P A Mohammad ( Kozhikode), S Subhashchandra Bose( Palakkad) V P Rajeena ( Malappuram), C Sumesh (Thrissur) were elected joint secretaries.M Madhu(Wayanad), P P Divya (Kannur), T V Anitha (Ernakulam), G Muralidhran( Kollam) were elected vice-presidents. A 22-member secretariat was also elected. The convention elected a 75- member state committee. The convention decided to raise protest against any move to raise the pension age and impose ban on recruitment. The DYFI will launch a campaign against communalism and terrorism. Women’s conventions will be held in all districtsto protest atrocities against women and children. Coaching centres will be set up at block /area centres to provide coaching to the candidates preparing for PSC tests. A sub-committee at the state-level will intervene in issues involving PSC appointments and ranklists. Media workshops and training in making IT beneficial for society will be held at the district-level. A state tribal convention is another programme to be organised under the aegis of the organisation. Earlier, Deputy Opposition leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan inaugurated the convention.
