THIRUVANANATHAPURAM: Balachandran Chullikkad, poet and an employee of the Treasury Department, inaugurated the Malayalam Language Week celebrations held at the Treasury Directorate the other day. The function was presided over by Treasury Department director D Vijayakumari. ‘Koyikkettu’, the short story collection by R S Santhosh Kumar, an employee of the Directorate, was released by Balachandran Chullikkad at the function. Besides Chullikkad, Santhosh Kumar and Ajayan Kottara, another employee of the department who is also a poet, were honoured at the function. Superintendents Sugatha Sundar and Georgekutty Sebastian offered felicitations. G L Manju and Naija S Nair presented their poems. A symposium on ‘Malayalam Malayaliyude Jeevithathil’ was held.
