New Delhi: A 32-year-old man has been arrested over allegations that he masturbated in front of a German woman in south-east Delhi's Greater Kailash.
According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when the 33-year-old woman, who is pursuing PhD from JNU, had taken her dog out for a stroll in Greater Kailash-II.
She stopped for a while when she saw the man, Tarun Kumar from Haryana, looking at her in a weird manner.
When he looked away, she moved ahead. But as soon as she reached closer to where he was standing, he pulled his trousers down and started masturbating while looking at her, the police said.
She shouted at him, but before she could try and catch him, he drove off in his car. The woman managed to capture a picture of the car and its registration number.
The woman informed the police following which the accused was arrested on Friday. Tarun was produced before a court that sent him to judicial custody.
The latest incident comes a week after a 22-year-old woman posted a video on social media of a man who masturbated in front of her and five other women while on a busy train in Mumbai.
The incident caused further outrage after the woman accused a police officer of refusing to take action against the man following a complaint. The accused was eventually arrested.
Last month, a traveller on a Delhi-bound flight was arrested after he allegedly masturbated in front of a female passenger.
