CHENNAI: A man, who was beaten up in front of whirring cameras and a huge studio audience by his mother-in-law and wife for his candid talk during a television reality show shoot has gone missing after the incident.Prince, who runs a photo studio, left his home in East Mada Street in Villivakkam, on August 31 and has not returned, according to a police complaint lodged by his sister, Minnie Mouli.Police said, 40-year-old Prince had gone to the studios of a private channel in T Nagar to shoot for an episode of a reality show titled ‘Solluvadhellam Unmai’ (I speak nothing but the truth), anchored by a popular television personality, on August 30.The show brings warring relatives as guests to the studio for a candid discussion on their problems, letting them speak out, all with a view to solving family disputes. On August 30, Prince and his wife Minnie were invited to speak out on their problems. The couple, who have two children, had been regularly quarrelling over some issues arising out of Prince’s drinking habit, police said.Even as the couple was discussing their problems frankly with the anchor of the show, they started blaming each other and an argument broke out. At that point, Minnie’s mother Leela, who was sitting in the audience gallery, walked up to the podium and beat up her son-in-law and that got recorded on camera.Sources said that Minnie also joined her mother in raining blows on her husband. Members from the audience and the anchor had to intervene to save Prince from Leela’s wrath. After the incident, Prince had gone missing.
