VISAKHAPATNAM: Tension gripped agency areas in Visakhapatnam district following the death of two tribals S Bojjibabu and D Sivaprakash. The duo were killed by CPI Maoists of Galikonda area committee) at GK Veedhi mandal in the district on Sunday.Police have intensified combing operations especially at Chintapalle and GK Veedhi mandals in the district. Sources said CPI Maoists had released a letter confirming that they killed the two tribals as they were police informers.The deceased were responsible for the arrest of many innocent tribals, they said.As CPI (Maoist) has called for a two-day Bharat bandh on December 4 and 5 in protest against the killing of Kishenji, Maoists in the region are releasing posters and pamphlets to make the bandh a success by shutting down all shops and commercial establishments.Maoists will also observe a ‘Protest Week’ from November 29. Sources said the rebels would celebrate People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week from December 2 to 8. A high alert has been sounded in the agency areas.Security at all police stations in the Maoist strong holds in the three districts including AOB have been intensified.Speaking to Express, Superintendent of Police, Visakhapatnam, G Srinivas said special party teams and greyhounds have been deployed to flush out rebels from AOB areas. Despite the presence of security forces, tribals getting killed in broad day light has struck terror in agency areas.BUS SERVICES CANCELLED: Owing to Maoists’ Protest Week in the wake of killing of Kishenji from November 29, APSRTC has cancelled four bus services to Neelakantapuram and Kedharapuram.
