Panic was palpable as the news of three girls going missing from a Dalit locality in Sector 37 spread.

New Delhi: The horror of the macabre Nithari murders came to haunt the village yet again on Wednesday when three girls from a nearby area when missing for a brief period.

Panic was palpable and emotions ran high as the news of three girls going missing from a Dalit locality in Sector 37 spread.

The parents of the girls – residents of the locality not very far from Nithari – rushed to the policemen stationed near serial killing accused Moninder Singh Pandher's house.

However, things came back to normal when all the three girls – three-year-old Kajal, four-year-olds Payal and Priyanka - were later found by their parents.

The police too withdrew the complaint after verifying that the girls had indeed returned.

The three girls are said to have wandered away from their locality while playing and a security guard brought them back home.

In a related development, PTI reports that while as parents of missing children continued to scourge Noida in search of their wards, a couple visited the CBI camp office, seeking help to reinstate two kids living with them for the past eight years with their original parents.

The CBI custody of main accused Pandher and Koli comes to an end on Thursday and the CBI is likely to favour sending them to the judicial custody for sometime.
