Mumbai: Popular TV actress Sakshi Tanwar, who is teaming up with Sunny Deol for 'Mohalla Assi' says, the film will make a huge difference to her career graph. Sakshi is known for her portrayal of Parvati Agarwal in 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii' and as Priya in her on-going TV show 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hai'.
"I am an actor.. I would like to portray as many characters as I can. It should be different, stimulating, culminating. The medium doesn't matter for us to make a difference. Any creative person needs medium to reach out to his or her viewers or fans. Now that medium could be theatre, TV and films," Sakshi told PTI.
"I think TV is the reason why I am called Sakshi Tanwar and I will always owe it to them. These are my roots and I will never cut myself from the roots and stand in another totally different area," she said.
This is not for the first time that Sakshi would be seen in a film. She has done cameo appearances in movies like Ekta Kapoor's home production 'C Kkompany', Pritish Nandy's 'Saluun' and others.
"I have done couple of films earlier... they were cameo appearances. But this would certainly make a difference in terms of importance of the role," she said.
Sakshi will be seen in a full-fledged role in the upcoming film, which also stars Saurabh Shukla and Ravi Kishan.
"Sunny Deol plays a Sanskrit teacher and I play his wife. I am very proud of my role of Savitri Pandey. And it has nothing to do with the length of the role but in terms of strength.
"She is someone who has many shades. I believe a lot of women will relate to her. It was an exciting role for me as I have never done it before," she said.
The film is directed by Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, who previously directed 'Pinjar' (2003) and is also known for television epic 'Chanakya'.
"I have finished shooting for it. I have finished with dubbing and everything. It is a beautiful subject. It is based in 1980s in Banaras," Sakshi said.
