Understanding of god

I believe god created me to glorify his name on earth and serve this community as his servant. I think god is someone who loves us and wants us to be his children and live according to his stated standards. To put a smile on his face would be the goal of every individual.

Spiritual beliefs

In order to help us achieve the standard god has set for us, he sent his son Jesus to save us from failure and to be made right with god through his death on the cross. I believe that if we trust in his plan of redemption via Jesus, we will be able to reach heaven and live eternally with god. There is a vacuum in every one of us that can be filled only by the peace. Until then, the soul keeps searching for peace in other means available to man such as rituals, pleasures, pilgrimages and rites.

Spiritual practices

I read the Bible every day. I spend time before going to bed, giving thanks and praise for god’s support to me all through the day. I believe that living a life according to the Bible is actual practice of spirituality. I also think about what my god would have done in situations where I am perplexed on what route to take. Since he also walked on this earth in human form, I can take his directions on every aspect in life.

Take on miracles

In 1974, my dad was 42 and a widower. My mother was 36 and never wanted to marry. God brought them together and I am their only son. Now that is what I call a miracle. I am living a matchless life. Every new day I get to see is a miracle, given the odds of me being born!

Take on superstition

I welcome cats to cross my path and never believe in superstitions. Neither should anyone. We need to rest ourselves on the thought that god is good and that he will never let us down in life, if we obey his commands.

Pilgrimage sites

My life in itself is a pilgrimage and my home is not on earth. My citizenship is in heaven. I’m waiting for the day when my pilgrimage on earth would end and my saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ would come as a king in the skies and take me ‘Home’.  That is the place I am hoping to visit and live in, for eternity.
