THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The mystery over the brutal attack on R Krishnakumar, teacher in the Valakom school in Kollam, deepened with many contradictions seen in his statement given to the magistrate and police on Saturday. He reportedly stated on Saturday that he had not gone to meet any astrologer at Kadakkal and that he was at Valakom on the day of the attack. He also said he was attacked by a gang of four which contradicts his reported statement on Wednesday, just before being admitted to the Medical College Hospital here, that he had met with an accident.Even when he denies that he had gone to Kadakkal, the probe team is in possession of a KSRTC bus ticket billed at 6.58 pm on September 27 for `14 to travel from Valakom to Nilamel, which was collected from his pocket while he was being shifted to the MCH here.It has also been found that he had visited Kadakkal on Monday. From Nilamel, it is believed that he had moved eastward to Kadakkal on Tuesday, which is less than 10 km away.Sreekumar, an astrologer from Kadakkal has told the probe team that Krishnakumar had indeed visited him on Tuesday evening and was dropped in a car by his son and daughter-in-law around 10 pm back at Nilamel.Meanwhile, after visiting Krishnakumar, CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, flanked by Opposition deput y l e ade r Kodi y e r i Balakrishnan and others claimed that the former had made some ‘disclosures’ to him.
