CHENNAI: A special handicraft, handlooms, jewellery and furniture exhibition is on at Navarathri Craft Festival at Sri Sankara Hall. Various kinds of Kolu Dolls such as Terracotta, black and white metal, brass, Tanjore paintings, Andhra wood carvings, Kondapalli toys, Andhra and Kashmiri sarees and dress materials, Jaipur bangles and Jewellery are on display at the exhibition.One might also find stone painting (made up of semi-precious stones from Jaipur), malas (made up of precious and semi- precious stones in pure silver), silk painting from Rajasthan, antique items from Chettinadu, bangles from Coimbatore, silver jewellery from Jaipur, pearl jewellery from Hyderabad, kantha work churidhars and dress material from Kolkata, terracotta from Bangalore, carpets from UP, deco painting from Kerala, jute bags from Kolkata, greeting cards, jewel boxes, key holders, tea costers, a wide range of colourful curtains, bed spreads, cushion covers, Pillow covers, sofa back, Pochampalli dress materials and bedsheets from Andhra, radium items from Gujarat, door curtains from Rajasthan.Also, shawl materials from Baghalpur, walnut furniture from UP furnitures, mango wood furniture from UP, Andhra wood/Rosewood are available.A special season discount of 10 per cent on Handicrafts, jewellery and Kashmiri, UP furniture and upto 20 per cent on handloom is on.The exhibition-cum-sale is open to public between 10am to 9pm on all days (including Sundays) from September 9 to 19.
