Not all films reflect real life in today's commercialised world. However, 'Neer Paravai', directed by Seenu Ramasamy and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, belongs to this genre.
Starring Vishnu and Sunaina in lead roles, the movie speaks about the lives of fishermen, who live in the coastal villages of Tamil Nadu.
Director Samuthirakani and award winning actress Nanditha Das plays crucial roles in this flick, which has music by Raghunanthan.
Says Seenu Ramasamy, "I have registered the pain of Lankan Tamils for 14 minutes. I wanted the whole India to take note of the troubles of fishermen. So I roped in Nandita Das to play a crucial role".
However, Seenu Ramasamy refutes that the film speaks about problems alone. "There is a beautiful and interesting love story between Vishnu and Sunaina," he says.
Dropping a hint on the movie's storyline, he says, "Many are found dead in a boat in mid-sea. But a small boy from southern Sri Lanka is alive. A fisherman from Tamil Nadu finds him and brings him to India. He grows here. This character is played by Vishnu."
Since the film narrates the story of fishermen, major portions of the movie were shot in the waters of Kanyakumari.
Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin is all optimistic about the movie's prospects in the box-office. "Seenu Ramasamy has shaped up 'Neer Paravai' as a lively movie. I am sure the audience will like it."
Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies is planning to release the movie in as many screens as possible in November end.
