VIJAYAWADA: In order to bring more transparency in the conduct of Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test-2012, a new system has been introduced this year, NTR University of Health Sciences vice-chancellor  IV Rao has said.Under the new system, the OMR sheet  contains the name, photo and address of the candidate. There is a column on the sheet to enter  the number of answered  and unanswered questions after completion of  the examination. The PGMET-2012 is scheduled for March 11. The answer key will be released on March 12.Addressing a press conference here on Thursday,   Rao said a total of 13, 089 candidates applied for the test. Hall-tickets were sent to 12, 996 candidates. The entrance test will be held at 16 centres in the state. The exam centres include SV Medical College and SV Arts College in Tirupati, Kurnool  Medical College in Kurnool,  Osmania Medical College, Gandhi Medical College, Shadan Degree College for Boys and JNTU Engineering College in  Hyderabad, Kakatiya Medical College and National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Warangal, Siddhartha Medical College and Maris Stella College in Vijayawada, Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada, Andhra Medical College and AU Engineering College in Visakhapatnam and Guntur Medical College and AC College in Guntur.The answer key will be posted at [email protected]  on March 12. Candidates can submit objections if any up to March 14 by mailing them with correct answers, which will be displayed on the university website on March 19. The results with merit list will be announced on March 23. The university will also put the scanned image of the OMR answer sheet at its website on March 23.  The  candidates are allowed to report any discrepancies in evaluation of the OMR answer sheets before March 25.The verification of discrepancies will be taken up from March 27 to 29. The candidates have been asked to reach the exam centre one hour before. The test will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. They will not be allowed to leave the examination hall till the end of the test.  The candidates should be in their seats after 1 pm as the invigilator goes to each candidate and gets the number of questions answered and unanswered questions entered in the column on the OMR sheet. After entering the figures, the candidate needs to sign on the OMR sheet. The invigilator also signs on its backside. “We have taken all measures to conduct the test in a foolproof manner,” the vice-chancellor said.University registrar T Venugopal Rao was also present at the press conference.
