NIIT told to refund fee to two students

BANGALORE: The Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has directed NIIT to refund the course fee of two students for denying them an opportunity to take the examination on time by not issuing the required vouchers and slips.
N Barath Kumar and Choodamani G N joined NIIT for a certified Interconnecting Networking Devices course by paying `24,266. After undergoing 80 hours of intense training, they were supposed to attend the examination by producing the CISCO voucher, which was supposed to be provided by NIIT. However, NIIT failed to give the necessary vouchers till they issued legal notices. Both of them filed petitions seeking refund of the course fees and compensation for the mental agony that they underwent in the Second Additional District Consumer Redressal Forum.
