KANNUR: Yet another farmer committed suicide in the district on Monday night, unable to repay the loan taken by him from a nationalised bank. The body of Nellikkal Gangadharan, 62, a farmer at Cherupuzha, was found hanging from a cashew nut tree on Tuesday. He had taken a loan from the Thirumeni branch of the SBT for rubber, pepper and cashew cultivation in his land. The bank had served a notice on him to repay the loan. According to his relatives, he was mentally disturbed after the receipt of the notice from the bank.Gangadharan left his house on Monday afternoon, and when he failed to return till late on Monday, his relatives launched a search. His body was found hanging from a cashew nut tree near the house.He is survived by wife Sumathi, daughter Thulasi and sons Girish and Anish. Another farmer of Kottiyur had committed suicide last week as he couldn’t repay the loans taken by him from a bank.
