CHENNAI: For the first time in India, students who have passed the higher secondary course can register their names with the employment exchange online through the schools where they studied. This will commence from May 25, the day the students will get their marksheets and will go on for 15 days. All those students who have registered their names during this period will be given same seniority. Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa announced this at a press conference at the Secretariat here on Monday. The students should bring their marksheets, family card and a photocopy of the family card. Those who have registered their SSLC qualification with employment exchanges, should bring the registration card. Differently-abled students should register their seniority at the District Employment Exchange apart from registering through the schools. The new measure would reduce the hardships faced by the students in registering their qualifications with the Employment Exchange.
