Bengaluru: Think twice before parking your vehicles in 'No Parking' areas in Bengaluru. You can no longer get away with your offence by paying just Rs 100 fine. Be ready to lose your driving licence also.
Bengaluru's Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) B Dayananda has come out with this new and stringent rule. According to the new rules, if anybody parks vehicles in 'No Parking' zones causing inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists, driving licence of the owners or drivers of parked vehicles will be impounded and cancelled. It will come into effect immediately.
B Dayananda, a 1995 batch of the IPS is known for his scientific and tough handling of traffic in Bengaluru, India's third most important city after Delhi and Mumbai. He has come out with several novel things to improve traffic scenario and ease peak hour congestion in the city, which is notorious for its traffic jams.
His relentless crackdown on auto drivers harassing the public has won him praise from the citizens of Bengaluru.
