Pillai browbeating government, says VS

KOTTARAKKARA: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan said at Valakam near here on Monday that R Balakrishna Pillai had been  threatening Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and a weak ruling front, for availing of luxurious facilities as a prisoner. Speaking at a protest meeting demanding immediate arrest of the guilty behind the inhuman attack on the teacher at Valakam,  he said that government had not shown the courage to register case against Balakrishna Pillai and his son K B Ganesh Kumar, despite having enough evidence of their involvement based on evidence. Balakrishna Pillai made more than 40 calls from his phone on the day the teacher was attacked, and it should be suspected that he was in touch with the Chief Minister and even the gang which attacked the teacher. VS pointed out that even Manmohan Singh Governmen     t at the Centre has not offered such facilities to some former union ministers, who are now undergoing imprisonment in Tihar Jail. Demanding the immediate arrest of the guilty, he said that if the government continued its inaction, the party would launch state-wide agitation.CPM  Kottarakkara area committee president P Mukesh presided over the function.Aisha Potty MLA, C Divakaran MLA and former Minister N K Premachandran spoke.
