Cuttack: A day after the Orissa High Court disposed of a PIL pertaining to police investigation and treatment of the Pipili gang rape victim, the Justice PK Mohanty Commission probing the incident on Wednesday issued notices to the state asking it to submit the case diaries.

The commission, which had earlier issued notices to as many as five doctors, including the charge-sheeted Superintendent of SCB Medical College and Hospital DN Moharana, also asked the doctors to file affidavits and record their statements before it.

In its sixth session, the commission also asked the government counsels to submit the case diaries and other relevant police documents, including station diary entries, to it for perusal.

The commission has fixed June 30 as the next date of hearing when the then Puri SP AN Sinha and Pipili SDPO Rajendra Rout are expected file their affidavits.

The Commission received at least 40 affidavits by different persons, including that of dismissed police Inspector Amulya Champatray, who was officiating as IIC of Pipili police station when a 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped and an attempt was made on her life in Arjungoda village of the locality.
