Formula One teams at the Hungarian Grand Prix will have 'soft' and 'medium' tyres for their cars supplied by Pirelli, BBC Sport has reported.
After Lotus termed Pirelli's initial choice of 'hard' and 'medium' tyres as "conservative", the supplier revised its decision, which comes after multiple failures at last weekend's British Grand Prix.
BBC also reported that "the company discovered while investigating the British Grand Prix problems that its 2013 construction had a weakness if used in certain ways." Following that, the FIA allowed Pirelli to go back to the soft tyres used in 2012 on safety grounds.
"The change to the 2012 construction means that Hungary doesn't require such a hard compound now," a Pirelli spokeswoman was quoted by BBC.
The tyres used at the Hungaroring this weekend will be even one grade softer than last year.
