THANJAVUR: With no clue on the whereabouts of Divaharan, a women’s college owner who is allegedly invol-ved in a land grab case, the Thanjavur Police on Wednesday picked up the college principal for questioning. Amudha, principal of Mannargudi based Sengamala Thayaar Women’s College, was taken to the All Women Police Station here. During questioning, she was asked about the whereabouts of Divaharan, sources said. Though the police did not reveal all the details that they collected from Amudha, the principal later said that Divaharan was present at a function on the Mannargudi college campus some two weeks ago. After a series of raids and search operations in Thanjavur and Tiruvarur, the Tiruvarur Police had also picked up six persons for questioning on Tuesday. The police have intensified their search for Divaharan after the Madras High Court adjourned hearing on his anticipatory bail plea to January 31.
