Prisoner serving life term for murder escapes from BHU Hospital

A 35-year-old prisoner serving life term in a murder case escaped from BHU Hospital on Sunday, police said.

Zahir-Ul-Haq had been keeping unwell and was admitted to the hospital in Lanka area of the city on July 1, Station Officer Dev Prakash said. Haq, who had been behind the bars at the Central Jail here for last ten years, gave police officials and the hospital staff the slip on Sunday, he added.

A search is on to nab him, the officer said.
