The Kerala HC directed Bollywood director Priyadarshan's wife to appear on November 12 in a contempt of court case.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court directed Bollywood director Priyadarshan's wife Lissy to personally appear on November 12 in a contempt of court case. The Ernakulam district collector has also been asked to be present in the court.

Justice B P Ray issued the direction on a contempt petition filed by Lissy's father M P Varkey. The judge said that parties have committed prima facie

contempt and directed to showcause why suitable punishment should not be ordered.

Earlier, the RDO had directed Lissy to pay a monthly maintenance of Rs 4500 and Rs 1000 for Varkey's medical needs. This was challenged by Lissy, a former Malayalam film actress, by filing a review petition before the district

collector. No deposit was made.

The petitioner then approached the court which directed Lissy to pay maintenance and when she failed to comply with the order, the contempt plea was filed.
