Prakash Dube, Group Editor, Dainik Bhaskar was elected as the General Secretary.

New Delhi: Raj Chengappa, Group Editorial Director, India Today has been elected as the president of the Editors Guild of India at the general body meeting on Saturday, September 26, 2015.

The new General Secretary is Prakash Dube, Group Editor, Dainik Bhaskar with Seema Mustafa, Editor, The Citizen, is the Treasurer.

The Editors Guild of India strives to uphold the freedom of the press and other mass media, striving for improvement of professional standards, safeguarding editorial independence and taking appropriate steps to implement and further these aims and objects.

The Guild represents editors across the country and was established in 1977 just after the Emergency. It has members from national, regional and local newspapers, magazines and electronic media.
