Ramanthuruth hydel project inaugurated

KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the Ramanthuruth hydel project at Vallarpadom on Saturday. The project comes as a relief to the residents of Ramanthuruth, affected by problems of water and electricity. According to the local people, they had to go in boats to collect water from far off places. The residents, who had no means of electricity, had to resort to kerosene lamps. Minister for Power Aryadan Mohammed, Excise Minister K Babu, MLAs Hibi Eden and Dominic Presentation, and Mayor Tony Chammany were present.
