Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor came to the rescue of his 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' co-star and former lady love Deepika Padukone when a rather awkward question was posed to her regarding her 'RK' tattoo.
During the duo's earlier 2008 release 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', Deepika had got 'RK' inked on the nape of her neck. At that time, she was dating Ranbir.
Ranbir became upset when a reporter here asked Deepika if she would be ready to sport another tattoo for the promotion of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'.
Ranbir said: "I don't think any actor in the film fraternity does things for promoting and marketing of a film. We also have a personal life. We do things for a film, but when we go home, we have a life, parents, family, friends. So you should respect that."
He also shot back at the media representative for asking such a question at a press conference meant for the launch of the first look of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'.
"You ask a question like this and if Deepika answers it, that would become an article for you. So it will be best that you also have a little dignity at a press conference like this and not bring up questions like this," he added.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' also stars Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur. It hits theatres May 31.
The name of Ranbir's character in the movie is called Bunny. He says using such quirky names for characters is favourable as they hold recall value.
"Only the directors who write the scripts know the secret behind names like Barfi, Laddoo, Zandu balm and all (such names) in films. But I am lucky because names like these that are quirky, stay with you," said the 30-year-old.
"The fact that you can recall my name from the trailer is a good thing. It's a nice and fun name, Bunny!" he added.
