A senior RAS officer allegedly assaulted a woman and tried to run her over with his official vehicle, after she refused to withdraw a police complaint against his wife and son.
Prem Sukh Vishnoi, posted as additional commissioner - colonisation, has been arrested, police said on Friday.
The Rajasthan Administrative Service office along with his son Manish reached the house of Meghna Sharma and asked her to withdraw a complaint lodged against his wife Rama and Manish, on Thursday, in connection with a scuffle.
"They abused and thrashed her and also snatched her mobile phone. When she raised an alarm, they rushed out of the house and attempted to crush the woman with his official Bolero vehicle," police said.
"She informed the police and an FIR was lodged after which Vishnoi was arrested on Thursday. His son is absconding," they said, adding, that the matter was under investigation.
