BANGALORE: The condition of roads around Annasandrapalya has put a halt on the BMTC buses which were earlier passing through this way to Basavanagar. The road is not only causing serious inconvenience to the adults living here but also the children as they are prohibited to play outside now.“We cannot open the doors or sent our children outside to play because of the dust,”said sharadamma,a resident of this area. Condition becomes worse when it rains, people cannot even move to the adjacent shops. Roads were dug for laying sewage pipe line, inspite of completing the work three weeks back, concerned authority has not taken any steps to tar the roads.Apart from the road issue, people here also struggle for water. It is quite surprising to see that there is not a single public tap in any of the streets around this area. Residents have to pay `2 for each pot of water no matter rich or poor.Recently free drinking water tankers have been sent to each area on every alternative days. “Roads were dug to lay the sewage pipeline, to channelise drainage water towards Vibutipura lake, so that their will be no blockage or roads do not get flooded even if it rains,”said siddalingaih, the MLC of that area when asked about the condition of roads. He also promised to provide kavery water connection to the residents of this area for which a tank is being built in B Narayanapura.
