Ryots loot 80 bags from urea tractor

WARANGAL:  Farmers of Stationghanpur mandal, who were reeling under shortage of fertilisers, on Monday attacked a tractor laden with urea and looted about 80 bags.On information, police swung into action, caned the ryots and recovered 40 of the bags. A manhunt was launched to nab the remaining ryots who absconded with the bags.Meanwhile, farmers staged a rasta roko at the railway gate resenting the police action which led to mild tension. The angry ryots even gheraoed agriculture department mandal officer Anuradha.In Stationghanpur mandal, hundreds of farmers are waiting for supply of fertilisers, specially urea, even while agricultural officials have been distributing stocks received village-wise.
