Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday is likely to interrogate Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose for the second time in the Saradha chit fund scam. Bose was questioned for over 6 hours on Wednesday.
Srinjoy Bose who owns a Bengali newspaper had been named by prime accused Saradha Group CMD Sudipta Sen and Kunal Ghosh as someone who made vital decisions about Saradha's media business. Kunal Ghosh has reportely written to TMC supporters, demanding that the party should constitute an inquiry committee within 72 hours to probe the role of some of its leaders in the multi-crore scam.
The CBI is also likely to continue questioning Samir Chakraborty, husband of Trinamool leader Krishna Chakraborty in the case.
The TMC is feeling the heat with many prominent leaders being roped in the multi-crore scam. The development occurs just after former director general of police of West Bengal Rajat Majumder was arrested in the case. Majumdar is said to have close links to Saradha Group CMD Sudipta Sen, who is behind bars.
Majumdar, who had worked as Director General (Armed Police) in West Bengal, was allegedly associated with the Saradha Group, which has been accused of duping thousands of investors with crore of rupees, official sources said.
