TIRUVANNAMALAI: The headmaster of a state-run school in Perungalathur was suspended because he kept the classrooms locked and made students to wait outside every morning. On Wednesday, parents staged a protest demanding action against the school headmaster for what they called his irresponsible act. The headmaster Kuppusamy would lock the doors of all the classrooms after school hours everyday. He is also believed to keep all the keys of the classrooms in his room and locks it as well. When the teachers and children come the next day, they had to wait for the headmaster to and then give the keys to the classroom. On Wednesday, students and teachers, who came to the school faced this situation. While they waited there was no information whether the headmaster would report to work or not which caused frustration. Angry parents and students then protested in front of the school demanding action against the headmaster. When they attempted to stage a road roko, police in Thanipadi arrived at the scene and pacified the protestors. Later, in the presence of a district official, the headmaster’s locked room was opened and the the keys to the classrooms were retrieved.
